If you wish to lead it, come forward and take charge of your state chapter as a start, lead and deliver results. IV is everyone and each member's responsibility.

sounds funny and will make news, but I am not sure it helps in our campaign to get the system fixed.
It would get attention and help in educating (legal vs illegal) and would be done in conjunction with other things like:
-sending more flowers
-a huge rally in Silicon Valley
-candlelight vigil at congress
-mass letter mailings from all of us
-human chains
-hunger strike?
-etc
We have to attack simultaneusly (but SMARTLY) from all angles in order to be effective!

As the report said that there is a possibility that there will be a loss of 40k visas. My question to you is What will be the I485 processing date in the Visa Bulletin if we assume that 40k visas are not loss by the agency. You guess estimate is also fine.
I don't think it will make a huge amount of difference. The visa loss is due to lack of manpower in processing applications. Now there will be even more applications and presumably no extra hands to approve them.

I checked with some folks who have got GCs in the past and they mentioned that FP (2nd time ) is not needed.....unlike the minds of USCIS one's FP doesn't change over his lifetime...that said..if you apply renew EAD u can get FP notice....
But if 15 month rule of FP is correct then very few will get approved as very few have received 2nd FP notice....so I am not sure what is good or bad...we need to know if the folks who had got FP notice had recently renewed their EADs or not.

msgs like this help establish the notion that this is an indian website dedicated to indian immigration issues. I didnt see any post wishing happy Eid/ Eid Mubarak nor did I notice last year that anyone wished a Merry Christmas/ Happy Holidays, nor do we wish our Chinese friends a Happy Chinese New Year.
The people who wants to be a part of American Society should first definately be a very open minded towards all cultures and social trends.
Other thing to be Indian or representing Indian traditions is not a crime but certainly every time barking against anything Indian may certainly be a crime as it is a clear indication of closed door or prejudicial mind towards one particular country and culture. Americans do not mind if one shows that he is Indian now and want to become in American future. Although they prefer that AND that is why they label Jindal as Indian-American although he born in USA. If there are majority Indians on IV board, it is not a crime but it is obvious. Some of my chienese friends on IV board may start thread for wishing chienese festival, I bet most Indians on this board will welcome and same goes with Muslim friends on IV board. Starting and wishing EID MUBARAK thread (By the way that is also a Indian tradition..And I am proud of that too) is not a crime and by now if nobody started it does not mean other people may not welcome it. If you are a Muslim, start the thread for EID Mubarak, I will be the first to welcome that step. You want to be American,, right? Then first start learning open mind and start respecting the culture of majority IV memebers first. If you would not start that now how will you settle yourself in cultural pot of the world?
If you are an Indian citizen right now take control over your inferiority complex and get over it because if you do not respect your culture or your tradition what guaranty would be there for Americans that you would respect American traditions in future. Thanx for sharing ur experience. Could u pls lemme know the documents that u mailed along with the I-765 renewal form? As per the instructions form what we need to mail to the Service center is:
1. Filled I-765 form (latest)
2. Copy of existing EAD card(front and back)
3. Check for $ 340 (for ppl who filed for EAD b4 July 30 -2007) in favour of US Dept of homeland security
4. Copy of I-485 receipt
5. 2 Photos with specifications as mentioned in the instructions form
***If one is self-paper filing its not necessary to do FP***
Am I missing something? If so, pls let us know.
I'm about to file my EAD extension and will be filling up the form in a day or two. I'll email u if I have any questions on what to fill. But in the mean time, pls confirm if the required documentation is correct :).

You are absolutely correct, u did not miss anything.
- fill the complete i765 form, dont forget to sign
- copy of 485 receipt
- front and back of current EAD card

- check payable to US department of homeland security
- file it correctly to the right service center (dont worry if the address is different than what u filed last time)

It is foolish to expect idiots like you to come out of the gutter because you just enjoy the smell of the gutter. One more thing, only desi consulting companies are not the problem. Companies who figure out a way to take advantage of its employees, will do so. All companies are in the business of making bigger bucks for its shareholders. If they can figure out a way to make more, they will, even at the cost of taking advantage of immigrants. Desi companies figured out the loop holes first. Some of the other companies followed, others are still learning. It can be argued that % of such elements in desi consulting are more because they were the first to figure out the loopholes. But desi companies are not the only group taking advantage of immigrants. They are all the same. And folks like yourself feed into the problem. So please stop blaming just the desi consulting companies, because all companies are the same. Some companies have not yet figured out the ways to take advantage of immigrant employees. But these comapnies are learning fast, because they want to be competitive, right?

I saw that Logiclife mentioned that the head will be from michigan. I am from michigan and a lot of my buddies also visit this site regularly. Let us know if we can make a difference. Please let us know what can we do to help our cause here. I am ready to drive, meet, talk to any one I can to push things here. I dont know how much of an impact that would be, but even a little can help.
