I just need to get a new I-94 that matches the date on my I-797. I did try local CBP office and they were not willing to change it. They wanted me to apply for I-539 to extend status. So I thought its easier and faster probably to cross the border and get a new I-94.
My question is, If I travel to Canada on my current H1-B to renew my I-94, does it invalidate my pending AP application. Anyone?

My wife would be travelling to India soon and the question is whether to use AP or go for a H1 visa. She has been working on H1 (but no H1 visa yet) and also has a valid AP. The 485 is pending on my name.
In my understanding if she uses AP in the reentry, her status would change to AOS (Adj of Status) and can stay until the 485 is adjudicated. But if 485 is rejected she would be out of status immediately. We have been told (by my filing attorney) that if she gets a H1 visa this she wouldn't be out of status in case of 485 rejection - she can continue to stay & work on H1.
Is the above correct ? And if 485 gets rejected while on H1 would she be out of status immediately ?

Even I have moved a bit in the past and hence provided one address of a family member for all GC related communication.
A lot of times people have multiple properties that they rent out in one state and they themselves work and live in a seperate state. So you would be fine, else you would have to update your address every 4 months and will have to make sure by calling etc that the address was updated in time.

If this allows people to get EAD soon after getting approval for I140 I guess it should be good. Once a person gets EAD after 180 days he will be eligible to change employer. Also spouse will be able to work all the time we are waiting 5-7 years for PD to become current. Looks good to me.

If retrogression continues Im seriously thinking about retuirning to India in a few yrs once I meet my savings goals. However I have some questions of parents of kids who have been in India/US schooling system.
1) After what grade/standard do you feel that a child born and raised in USA cant integrate into Indian education system. (I was thinking 1st standard).
2) What things can we do at home to prepare child for entry into Indian school system from here. Is Montesorri education most comparable to India Nursery/KG ?
3) Any issues with US born citizen getting admitted to Indian schools (Convent schools - government aided or private). Will it be a competitive disadvantage for US citizens, do they have to pay more fees that Indian nationals ?

IV has FINALLY gotten most of us Through the door. Now we have a 20,000 membership. If everyone of us contributes $10 per month that is $200,000 a month. If we cannot even contribute $10 PER MONTH, that is really really cheap of us.
Guys IV has done its job, now to ensure that we get to the finish line FAST, we need to dig into our pockets and not even very deep!

Sweet_jungle, I am in a similar situation. My attorney sent a request to TSC 3 months back to fix the PD but no response yet. What did you do to open the obmudsman inquiry? Did you send him an email or did you send him a letter in the email
Ombudsman responded saying that my PD is the older PD. Looks like the earlier response was an error.
NSC AILA liason has also confirmed it.

For I-485 Applicant, it is not of much significance.
At POE, AP is stamped for one year (with I-94), but when it expires, it does not matter. One can continue working on H1 or EAD. And if someone is in USA on H4 (and not working on EAD) also remains in vaild status.
So there should not be any reason to worry, however, as suggested by "kshitijnt" better to get in touch with USCIS and let them do corrective action as required.
Please post your experience afterwards.

I think dec 2006 must not be a mistake, as thats the date they are showing they are working on............
