    Unfortunately, the only solution is to take your camera to a Nikon repair center. It seems that the D2H's meter failing is alarmingly common, from what reports one reads online. If your camera is yet under warranty, then you're in luck. Otherwise, it may be a US$200 - $300 repair. :(

    Hi all,
    I am currently out of USA.My new employer has submitted H1 Transfer and extension of stay.
    The petition has been approved along with new I-94. I have the original I-797 with me .

    I understand that we have to surrender I-94 before leaving USA.But in my case I got I-94 after I left USA.Now I need to go for visa stamping in India.

    Should I submit the new I-94 to the US consulate in India?

    Please advise.

    Wondering if a little something when filing my taxes will backfire on me when filing I-140/485.

    I'm single/no dependents but for past 4 yrs or so when filing taxes have showed 2 dependents for child tax credit (no earned income credit applied for)....my niece/nephew. My bro had full knowledge and he had suggested as due to his status in US, he is not required to file taxes. Sis in law not working, so not filing taxes. So i used to do that....

    It won't come to bite me right???? ok i am never doing this from now on but is it too late for me. Obviously on my immigation forms i will show no dependents etc as i have none...

    any advice.....


    Personally, I wouldn't send my tax returns until I have spoken to a GOOD lawyer. There are quite a few IO that do not ask for tax returns b4 or during the interview. However, it shouldn't be a problem as you can explain it away. Simply - they were my dependents in those 4 years !! But now they are not, simple.

    Hi

    It will great help if some body can help regarding this.

    I had my H1B from A Company,Recently i have moved to B Company where i was asked to go to UK for Business purpose.I have yet to have stamping from B Company.I still have valid visa till end of next year from Company A name stamping in the passport.Will there be any issues for comming back from UK without having stamping.

    First, please update your profile.

    Secondly, you don't need a new stamp as your old stamp is still valid but, make sure you carry all the H1 paperwork from your new company.

    Hello everyone,

    Can anyone define who (what) are the nonprofit organization that would be the exempts for the regular H1-B Cap?

    USIS's website says they are the "institutions of higher education or a related or affiliated nonprofit entity" or "a nonprofit research organization or a governmental research organization."

    I understand colleges and governmental organization are included, but what else qualifies for this category? I mean there are millions of nonprofit orgs...from the one that does important research for a state to the one that helps promoting the US. film industry to the one that cleans up streets for free....I'm just so confused.

    Any little help would be most appreciated.

    Recently my employer written a mail saying that he is closing the company and said to look for new employer.Previously i am working through a middle layer.When i found new employer he directly approached main vendor regarding contract.Now i am working without middle layer.Mean while middle layer hold my 45 days pay .The middle layer is not willing to pay.It is almost 8 months.I worked more than 20 months through middle layer.Can i get my money back?The middle man Threatening saying there is contract which you cannot go and it is breach.Can you please advise.

    My wife is currently in the US on H4 Status and she is taking classes at a local university on a part time basis.

    We are planning to go for our visa revalidation next month.

    How should i answer DS 156 Question #33.Do you intend to study in the US? for my wife?

    I think i should answer yes since she will continue taking classes after we come back to the US. Will this be an issue since she is on H4?

    Buddy, you will need to send only one AR-11 but will need to call in your change of address for every application. One phone call will cover it all, but make sure you tell the Customer service person that you needed this to be changed for every case. Then you will get a confirmation letter at your mailing address for every case that you changed address on. That is what I had to do on my 485 and EAD application.

    Also if you have any dependents over 21 (like spouse) then make sure your spouse is next to you or calls in separately to the Customer service. They will not allow you to speak for your spouse. You could do so for dependents under 21 though.

    If you are not a U.S. citizen and you have a case pending with USCIS you need to do both - call customer service and complete the Form AR-11. The AR-11 is used by non-U.S. citizens to meet the legal requirements of informing USCIS of any change of address. Presently, completing an AR-11 does not update your address on any pending case. Also, while calling customer service updates the address on your pending case, it does not meet the legal requirement of completing an AR-11.

    You are good till the end of your original H1 regardless of the outcome of the extension... the catch is, you have to maintain H1 status.. meaning get paid, no benching etc.,

    Requiring experience in addition to MS degree is considered "normal" for positions in Job Zone V. Whether it's more likely to trigger an audit or not - I doubt anybody will be able to tell you. For that somebody has to have experience of filing two PERMS, almost identical except for the experience requirement. I doubt many people have such an experience

    Styrum, thank you for your help. Do you know the situation to apply two perm witht the same company but different position? There is a lot of discusion around and we are really confused.

    It has limited relevance, the issue is the integrity of the Senator, he has admitted to the issue at hand but he went on the Senate floor as an elected public official to make declaratory and restrictionist anti-immigration statements, attacked immigrants, proposed and supported anti-immigrant ammendments and all this with the foundation of his positive public image, integrity and moral uprightness. We are thus not discussing the list he is on, but are simply taking note of the Senator's credibility on an issue that affects us.     I am sorry to ask...If H1B doesn't have I-94 attatched to it and it was approved when my friend was in india, he can work on L1. My question is, if he moves out of country and get H1B stamped, can he work on L1?

    As it is not a change of status. If he gets it stamped on his passport and enters the county on H1B. YES he can. I strongly recommend to get his visa stamped in India until unless he has a US degree.

    My Husband�s priority date is Oct 2003 (EB3). My Employer is willing to start for GC in EB2. Can We use my husband�s EB3 Oct 2003 priority date ?

    Yes you can get a second job while on EAD...I read in another thread that you keep one job as primary job which satisfies the LC rules then can work on second job and don't have to worry if your second job is as per LC rules or not. Hope this helps.
