The reason the processing dates matter is because by the time USCIS gets to process our I765 and I131 the dates would have retrogressed and then what happens is a million dollar ?
What is your point, Tnite? EAD and AP can filed/issued even if the PD is retrogressed. MY PD was retrogressed after I filed I-485 and EAD and AP were issued?

for your kind information, sorry for starting rats comparison here but I came to US about half a dozen years before you. my priority date is 2006 and EB3. also I recognize that there are ppl out there who came earlier than me too. Its very easy to preach 'Life is decided by choices we make', 'your luck/fate, success is decided by your own effort, talent', 'if you have it, ppl will notice it and you will succeed' etc. when you spend the most energetic, productive part of your life in a country, you would expect that country reward you with atleast opportunities to prove your mettle. not to say its immensely painful when ppl who came years and years after you get GC and grow leaps and bounds right in front of your eyes.
P.S. I am not questioning your qualifications or anything.
Just chill man. You're the one who was calling GC garbage can and then spending your most productive years on garbage can. Who spends his most productive years on garbage can? Obviously GC is something bigger for you.
Anyway, best of luck and have fun with familiy. Don't take too much stress...hopefully Obama will do something and everyone will have GC in 2-3 years. chill. great work everyone. thank you nycgal and others that took initiative and pushed this effort further. committed members like all of you in this thread help us a lot by sending emails to reporters. several letters highlighting a particular issue generates interest in reporters and media orgs and they choose to write about us. It is not easy to get even a single article published in newspapers and it is due to the efforts of our members, we are able to generate awareness. There is still a long road ahead of us and I am sure with active participation from everyone, we will surely succeed.

hi,
i have 3 yrs degree + 1 yr pg diploma. I have been working in industry for past 17 years, and don't think any degree or even doctorate would add much to my qualification for the job that i am doing.
I am currently filed in eb3 category, and new company i am changing job to are ready to refile my gc. But they won't file my gc in eb2 category, as i don't meet the 4 yr bs requirement.
My son will be in the highschool in 4 years, and i don't want to spend a lot of money on getting ms to myself. But for the gc i am looking for fastest and cheapest way to get ms program. I have no idea how it works, what qualifies me for a degree, what can i get credits for. Any inputs would be appreciated.

This is a problem because the DL people do not understand the immigration law. I was in a similar situation 2 years ago in Iowa. Tried to explain to the manager of the office, but got a lecture on how good their public transport system is. Then I went to another DL office in a rural county. The counter clerk refused, asked to see the supervisor who agreed to extend for 6 months by which time my extension came through.

I don't think this is true. As a CSR, case is assigned to you, not you choose the case. I think it's the same way to IOs. PD current cases will be assigned to IO, not IO looks into paper mountains to find case to adjust....

Due to huge filings in July'07, resultant chaos, and shuffling cases around between centers before entering them in the system, if your file is way below in line (eventhough you deligently made sure to have it with USCIS on July 2, AND your PD is current), no one is going to look at your file, until your turn (in order of final data entry) reaches.

If both of you are Indian citizens then your only option is PIO as OCI needs atleast one parent to be a US citizen.
If we move back to India on Indian passport and my son continues to hold US passport then he has to leave the country every 180 days or register with police under PIO card scheme. That is a very strange. Children of Indian citizen are at a disadvantage compared to those of a non-Indian citizen even in India.

Are they not supposed to make sure that they have enough senators on their side to pass this bill. Whatever we have won till this point is due to the efforts of core team and people who come to this website using media/campaigns. B) The person seeking advance parole attempts to enter the United States before a decision is made on the application.

Actually very true. I for one have held off on buying a gun (though my wife highly disapproves of guns) simply because I dont have a GC and dont want any hassles. Besides I live in Chicago which has a ban on guns. Ironic that the maximum killings and drive by shootings happen maybe 30-40 blocks from where I live but the city doesnt allow legal law-abiding residents to own guns.
Maybe we should tell NRA that lot of skilled immigrants will buy guns once they have GCs. That could be the fastest way for us to get some lobbying money. It could work faster then the message on "buying houses".

Hi,
The notice doesn't say that I-485 was denied. for I-140, it says notice of Automatic revocation. For I-485 it says Acknowledgement of withdrawl. It looks to me that my previous desi employer actually withdrawn the I-485 application and thats the reason it says the I-140 is automatically revoked.. But how can they withdraw my I-485 application ?

Which service center processed your I-140 ? For Eb2 cases, USCIS ( especially NSC) doesn't accept a combination of degree and experience. They require a single 4 year degree.
You should not completely give up on this. Get a good lawyer, a good education evaluator and try to save the case.
