I just dont get it. A.R Rehman has been doing amazing work for ages now and it needed a British movie to take him to the world stage. Really, his work in Dil Se...was way better than what he did in Slumdog.

Remember, 245i cases were the NOT the same as the mexican illegal aliens that are being spoken of in relation to CIR .. lots of educated, legal H1-Bs lost their jobs (and their legal status) during the dot com burst of 2000 - 2002. Bumper Stickers are a powerful tool to pread political messages in America. It may not catch the eye balls of the senators, but can definitely give spead the message of IV.
It's cheap, and long term free advertisement. I would say IV should distribute attractive non-controversial bumper-stickers, instead of flyers which end up in garbage cans

folks. lets keep ourselves focused and acheive what we all want. i cant find the right work to congragulate / appreciate the time and effort of core-team members and the sacrifices, coz without them we wont be where we are now.

Hi,
I am in the same boat my DL will expire on sept 30th. went to Hackensack/Lodi DMV. They extended till Jan 10th 08.
Best thing is do not depend on one DMV. try different places. in some DMVs the officers are not aware of our situation.

IV team: Please consider this, please make a plan and designate the people.
I am ready to do for AZ Senator and House members.
We start writing if someone open a new thread for EB3, that thread would be active for one or two days and after 2 days that thread would be dead.
Group please come together and keep this thread active.

Kondur007 is right. If the dates move forward in leaps and bounds it is because not enough cases are being processed; if the dates stay the same or more forward at a slow rate, it means that USCIS has a demand for Visa Numbers and they are being requested in a consistent pattern, so DOS does not have to advance cut off dates so drastically.
Having said that - it still feels like Russion Roulet. It is tough to stay positive in this environment, so (here is my plug-in), JOIN TeamIV Today and run your stresses away!:D

I totally understand that reporters may skew facts to their specific needs and know first hand that the EB-3 category is retrogressed across all nationalities. I am one of your members that is not from either background mentioned.
I was responding to a post on this forum (and not the press in general) that implied that this issue affects people from specific ethnic backgrounds, which is false.
I do have a general issue that people seem to forget that.
I applaud all core member efforts, however negative this post seems.

I think they had given a waiver till August 21 or so for the July fiasco filers.
Do you think I still not have to pay or should I pay the fee ?

My take on it is this : you have to PAY $340.
A lawyer will always say "DO AS PER INSTRUCTIONS".
But this case although unique, you still belonged to the pre-aug filers, even though there was a waiver (since u were applying based on PD which was for july month).
I remember that during that time USCIS has instructed everyone to add some kind of bright color sheet / paper on top of your application to state clearly that you belong to that group of pre-aug filing people and that you are filing using the old fee structure. that way you are clearly telling them "dont reject me directly because of incorrect fees".
Again although this seems very straightforward to me, that you HAVE TO pay $340, I still recommend you research more/talk to lawyer/USCIS.

Why dont you start by updating your profile, contributing money and volunteering your time to IV. You joined a couple days ago and have started lecturing IV admin as if you are an expert.
You came to the site and started dismissing IV flower campaign and praised AILA.

Sorry to hear about such cases. We all have to realize one thing here. The employers need us equally bad as we need them (more often than not, not talking about Indian consultancies here). If ever one encounters such racial discrimination and open abuse at the work place, the best recourse is to file a complaint with the higher ups in the HR, start searching for another employer and ditch the current racist employer at the right moment with an appropriate email sent to everyone detailing why the person is leaving at such an important phase of the product development. Yeah, this might sound un-ethical, but sometimes situations do demand such drastic measures to send the right message. That's when all these racist employers would realize the importance of the person that just left the company. Then they can try to fill in the position with their preferred race qualified person and see how difficult that gets!!
Better still, please talk to your friends and family in other parts of the US and find the areas in the US that are cosmopolitan and try to move to those places. Yeah that is very difficult in the short-term, but in the long-run, you would have peace of mind and a good quality of life after making such a move. Fortunately, i am in the Bay area and i have rarely encountered such racial prejudices out here. Just my two cents.

I invested so much for this company, like working beyond work hours, working in the weekends, making up the project deadlines for the incompetitive colleagues etc. etc. and now just waiting for my Green Card. There were so many times I thought if I get my Green Card I am going to leave this moment. Years passing by and with this retrogression thing, there is very little hope of getting it soon...
The positive thing is, my direct supervisor is very nice and I can voice my opinion and she understands me and completely supports me. I am just praying god that I should keep working for her till I get the GC.
Better still, please talk to your friends and family in other parts of the US and find the areas in the US that are cosmopolitan and try to move to those places. Yeah that is very difficult in the short-term, but in the long-run, you would have peace of mind and a good quality of life after making such a move. 5&6 raise an important issue - Could there be potential EAD and AP time lost between the actual approval dates and by the time these documents reach us in the mail?
Guys, as we all know we can not build our careers on EAD and TD. For a permanent solution, join us in the DC rally!
This is what happens after 485 receipts.
1. If one has not applied for EAD and TD , one applies for them and wait anxiously for their receipts.
2. Meanwhile some people start getting FP notices and one does not receive them he or she gets anxious. Finally one gets FP.
3. Meanwhile one gets the receipts for EAD, TD. One keeps checking the status online.
4. One goes and gives finger prints for INS.
5. Finally one gets his or her EAD and TD after 5 to 6 months , One enjoys the moment briefly.
6. Its almost a month since one received EAD and AP , Its time to apply for renewal.
7. Repeat step 1
8. Its almost 15 months since the first FP and one receives the second one because "Finger prints expire" ,
One has to repeat these steps in a cycle for almost 6 to 10 years depending on PD and "Nationality"
Meanwhile if USCIS changes any processes anywhere in the pipeline expect further delays.
I think best thing is to do participate in IV activities.
