Can anyone suggest me a good health insurance policy for the state of TN? What are the things that are important and what should be ignored? Most of the time I dont understand the technical terms used in it.
Currently I have one from a big health insurance company bought on the internet. I thought I was covered well. Every year they are raising the premium by about $30.00/month. I want to get another one, if anyone has bought from the open market please let me know.

Katrina, How did you know that DBEC is processing 2005 case?
I kind a feel that would be a miracle eventhough this amdmt get approved for Philadelphia PBEC to finish all the labor within 6 month :) I'm not sure about dallas since Dallas PBEC already start processing 2005 application.

u should just do a walk in and see. i did a walk in with my wife and the guard did not even look for the date. just walk in and see what happens.. dont say u r there to prepone...if they see the date at that time..request/beg them based on ur circumstances.

I agree with you. EB2 filers should not have any problem after USCIS solves all this receipting mess. Any one who filed in June and is already approved must have been pre-adjudicated, which means both name check and finger printing must have happened before the new fiscal year began. Anyway, from our perspective and not USCIS'S, EB3 has a long way to go.

My wife received the FP notice 3 weeks ago and her FP is tomorrow. I never received it even though I am the primary applicant. I do see updates on my I-485 application but no FP notice. The USCIS center is quite far away from my home. Can I try to go there with my wife and see if they can do my FP also tomorrow or is that a lost cause?

You also have to apply for Photo GC which will only be mailed in Canada and someone have to fed ex it to U in US else you will have problem getting back to Canada in future.

I am planning on buying a house in 30 days. My company would be paying me about 2500$ rent for renting out a part of my house. This is what made me think that I would actually be able to afford house in NJ.

As long as you dont force yourself into a decision just because your company is picking up the tab for 2500$ for an year does not mean that you have to buy a house that has a commitment of 30 years. Your company can do that for an apartment or rented property as well. Probably it wont be as much as 2500 but you can add up Internet, phone bills and other expenses to get close to the 2500$
How would that work out? Does 2500/month become additional taxable income? My mortgage payments would be about 3500/month. If it becomes a taxable income we would be screwed big time as we would cross all limits to low tax brackets :(

How ever its good to have a letter from your employer saying that your job and your employer required you to have a home office and not at your own will. The reason why I say this is because Home office deduction is one of the audit triggers on a return. Even though you will not declare this on your return, your employer will disclose this as a write off. chances are very less that IRS will ask you, but just in case have that letter from your employer. Also I am a july 07 filer with PD sept 2006 and would have few years before I can get GC. So would my chances of getting a mortgage like 450k are less as I am not permanent resident?

I dont think it matters. All that matter is your credit score. Dont tell the lender that you are NOT a permanent resident unless they ask you or the application asks you for. If they figure that you are concerned they will another quarter point

On December 19, 2007 we mailed the document to the address we have on file. You should receive the new document within 30 days. If you do not, or if you move before you get it, call customer service.
What does it mean? Does it mean that I-485 is approved.

We got an RFE on my wife's I-485 requesting for copy of marriage certificate. Our priority date is August 2005 (EB2). ND is September 05, 2007.
Anyone else in the same boat? Does this mean USCIS has began processing the 2005 apps?

Mention clearly what is indicated in job requirements. If the labor did not allow for BS in any enggg or related engg and just asked for BS in CS your I-140 will be denied for sure. No need to wait for the denial. Why did your attorney filed a labor like that for you knowing you do not have BS in CS.

You will not know until I-140 is filed as the preference category is requested on I-140 and not on the PERM.

One of my friend was successful porting his May 2004 priority dated EB3 to EB2. The entire porting process took three months for him to obtain Perm based LC and I-140 approvals.

I am speaking from experience. Download the forms needed for filing 485, EAD and AP. Then when your attorney send you his/her set ( normally they do this in 2 stages - one they will send you a draft copy to verify and correct all info - some have online questionnaire; stage two - they send the final forms for you to verify and sign again - this they may do paper copy or online PDF - that cannot be edited - not fill able forms).
So, here I am providing links to all forms that I know are needed. These from uscis.gov site are fill able. Weekend is coming. Fill them, and print and keep them.

This one was really difficult for me to evaluate because of all the openess, but I felt myself gravitating more towards the forms in number 3. Since it was the form that attracted me, I downloaded and cropped to make the fence the focus (since that's what grabbed my attention initially). I think I like the crop sans sky where only the wheatfield ( or is it oats?) and fence posts show the most. I know it has less complexity than the entire photo; maybe I'm just into simplistic and minimalist this week :)

I am speculating this. Elite people in USA predicted this situation in early 90s and they put Country quota. We all knew that countries like UK, Germany, France are Staunch Allies of USA for many decades. So USA did not want those country persons to wait years . India was least favored country in past due to many political reasons. Though it is changing now still USA may like to give preference to many of their close Allies. Canada had TN Visa but India does not have similar thing. If this is a speculation then it is possible to change Country Quota. I strongly believe that it is easier to increase GC quota or recapture bill than removing country quota.
Actualy per country quota was made in 60s replacing and even more rigid system that alloted quotas based on existing us population origin (mainly from western europe) by

No need to worry if your employer is consulting company. If so, then in reply to USICS mention that you are employed by employer, but works/worked on different client sites for them which are in different states.
Keep all your previous LCA ready or better attach copies of all with your reply. Not a big deal.

that was expected. 300K * 1.7(average family size according to USCIS) = Approx. 500K
