If you really would like to thank, Just promise you would meet atleast your lawmaker for your GC problems(GC Backlog & IV Action list) through your local state chapter atleast once a month. That would be a real contribution in helping yourself and your community.
bigboy007: I definitely agree with your suggestion and i will do my best to contribute. I plan to letter to Ombudsman and my local congress addressing issue with renewal EAD, delays in GC and impact on us. It may or may not help but every step we take will hopefully help all of us toward the goal. I am new to the IV action list - i plan to spend sometime and contribute as much as i can.

Well .. your guess is as good as mine. I haven't heard anyone talk about us or even acknowledge the fact that legal immigration is broken to a point where it's becoming simply hopeless. In fact I believe it was Kennedy who said that there is no need to improve the current legal immigration system. There was hundreds of hours of discussion on the TV about the immigration but I hardly heard anything about the reform in the legal immigration system. America's fascination and love with the illegals probably has created the problem of illegal immigration today as we see it. Good luck solving it.
Time and again illegal folks have been given the benefit of the doubt and awarded with amnesty. When was the last time U.S. government said that okay legals.. you don't have to wait in line for half of your life to get your GC... here it is and now go have fun.

This guy's priority date is later than mine, but receipt date is 13 days before mine!! Sounds like this approval is pretty random
Looks like there are 2 ways to process...
1) They pick all cases whose PD is current... Sort them in RD.. and start adjudicating the cases with earliest RD...

Finally...exctly after 4 months my all checks got cleared today , and got receipt number from the back check image.
Only do't know 140 as it was employer's check.
Just to Recap
Sent 140/485/765/131 on Aug 3rd to NSC

Check cleared on 12/3 .. Receipt # from TSC.

Anybody has any doc + cost in the Las Vegas area?
I did it today. No appointment needed. Bloodwork+Vaccinations+exam+paperwork+Tb skin test = $160.. for child $60
address is 3375 pepper lane, Pecos and E sunset next to USCIS office.
Now the place is a little cheesy, so expect it to be like an RTO office as in India. or more like DMV as in US. :-)
If I need an xray that would be extra $50. so worse situation $210.

Anyway,coming back to the topic of IO's behaviour at EWR,my experience there was very smooth, however i was behaved very rude at Logan Airport (Boston) in Xmas 07 season. Then I re-entered via JFK in July 08 and i got nice behavior like EWR. But Of course i didn't joke with IO about hot girls in the Airport :)

The news that you heard about people being sent back from POE is not completely verifiable. However there is no cause of alarm at all. As I have heard a lot of my friends and their contacts easily getting through the POE immigration on H1B, AP and even L1. So dont worry.
I heard that a total of 8-9 people from TCS got sent back from POE at LA or someplace dont know exactly which POE. But they were all L1 and when asked about their client instead of saying TCS they it seems said "AIG", "JP MorganChase" etc. etc. so they were sent back. Atleast thats the story I gather from one of my friend. Dont know how much it is true or not. But definitely not heard any H1B sent back at POE thus far. Unless that H1B was from a previous company and the person had joined another company but was trying to use the old H1B stamp from older company.
I myself came in through EWR in November and all was perfect. In fact me and the POE were so cool and talking to each other we even were talking to each other about how hot a few girls were in front of my line. One of the coolest POEs I have ever come across. I came in on H1B without any issues and IO gave me 3 yr I-94 whereas my wife came in via AP and she got the AOS Parolee I-94 for one year. No questions asked, no documents asked and no paystubs or nothing asked. Not even where do you work and which company.
It was a breeze.
So dont worry and carry on with your regular travel plans but make sure to carry every single document incl. paychecks just in case.

We just saw "Card production ordered" status change on our 485 applications.
So this proves that TSC is indeed processing 485 apps.
Our 485 apps were originally filed with TSC, then transferred to NSC in Dec 2007, again transferred back to TSC in Apr 2008.
Its been a long wait!! Hopefully we see a lot of approvals for people stuck in this for a while.

Seems like IV core thinks they will have some news, but it has not firmed up yet. Let us be patient and support them.
As we can imagine, these things are very fluid on the hill. There is not much we or IV can do.

You wouldn't be able to get h-4 without going for visa stamping.
You can only extend or change non immigrant status without leaving the country and re-entering if you are currently in non immigrant status.
I do believe that uscis will take their time to take a decision. You may want to try to file h-1b petition for yourself based on 140 approval (I do know some people who filed for three year extension based on employer revocation and got it approved. You would have to file it quickly; go for visa stamping and re-enter usa. If they should deny the 485; you will be safe on your own h-1b and can re-start the gc process.
F-1 is out of the question. You won't get a visa since it is single intent and since you filed gc they won't approve it.
UN, i am trying to avoid re-entering country as this can jeopardise everything if for some reason i don't get visa.
Do you know whats the status while i file MTR/appeal under scenario if MTR/appeal is rejected.

B) His her family has contributed atleast $125,000 towards State / Federal Income taxes + Social Security + Medicare

Good idea, but I doubt if it ever will be considired. This is thinking out of the box.

I just talked to the NSC customer rep and he basically stated that my case is still sitting on the shelf which is pretty scary. He refused to talk about name check clearance and clarified that my case has NOT yet been assigned to a IO. It looks like I am in for a long wait.
My priority date: May 18, 2004
I-140 appoved date: Jan 25, 2007
I-485 received date: July 2, 2007
I-485 notice date: Aug 2, 2007
Finger Printing: Sep 20, 2007

I have one PD 01-04/EB3/RIR stuck in DBEC. My company is ready to file a new labor in PERM EB2 at no cost. Is it okay to go ahead with PERM when RIR is still going on? I woud like to keep my PD if I can.
If my PERM application is approved .. my RIR labor application will still be valid or will get rejected ?

You will lose your RIR automatically when you apply for PERM with same company and same job description. If everything is same, they should in theory retain your old PD but it is not guaranteed. So, there is some risk associated with this process. Alternatively, you can continue to wait for a few more months for your RIR to come through. BECs have been chruning our RIRs at a fairly decent rate. They have an oct 2007 deadline to meet with all BEC cases.
If my PERM application is approved .. my RIR labor application will still be valid or will get rejected ?
