thats great and PR should be an ongoing thing and for now i can contribute some time towards this. It doesn't have to be expensive either.
I am guessing here but our target is "employment based GC seekers for more contribution towards IV". It is very specific. A newspaper is too general of a medium for such a specific target.
Where can we find them? on a immigration lawyer's website? maybe
There are plenty of immigration lawyers that support our cause...maybe some will be willing to put up a graphic or link about us on their sites for free.
This is just one suggestion. I am sure members can come up with several ideas.

(not telling them to rot in hell for refusing to help would be a start in getting a civil conversation going :-) )

for 45 days letters - FIFO rule simply does not apply and they are entering data for cases as it comes by their desk!

I was really afraid to ask this question as people here don't like different type of question, then also i thought to take a chance.
If you are a working couple with kids, you know the value of having a maid here.
So I am planning to get a maid from india.
Can she apply for b1 visa (with sponsorship letter from me).
Can I specify the actual reason(help with child care) for visa or I just have to mention "visiting purpose"??
I am fine with her traveling to india every 6 months.

the number of pending applications for EB3 India in April 2001 are 451 and the cut off date in the bulletin is 22 April 01. But in the case of Mexico, the number of pending applications in the same month is 2106 with a cut off date of 01 June 02? How is that possible?

I have to disagree with this. Once I-485 is filed, after six months, the employer can not do any harm to the GC application. Then AC-21 portability kicks in, and employee has a bit of freedom and security. If the current provision to get 3-year EAD comes into picture, even better for folks on EAD/AP. People can start their own businesses, or work on other things while on EAD. Spouses get to work also with EAD.
After I-485 is filed and 6 months have passed, I can change jobs. But will I have to go through I-140 again? Also, can I retain the old PD?
I thought you could file for a new I-485 only if your PD is current. My PD is not current. Can I still change jobs and file for a new I-485?

I am in similar situation, so hoping we all get it soon.
its Nebraska and paper, we had medical reason.
The officer sent a mail to the lady who is assigned my case, but don't know how long she will take to look into my case. Even the officer said the same as he is also not sure of the time to review the case.
And one more thing we learnt is, Phoenix center where we sent the application is just a lockbox, what all they do is to collect the applications cash the money and sent them to the respective centers ... hope this helps.

In 2005; uscis california denied 38 in a row i-140's for the same issue that I wrote here.
Consulting and staffing are two different things. As I stated before there is a legally precedent decision that staffing companies can file 14's if they have a permanent job. This is the main reason why uscis doesn't pick on this issue much. However; if you give them too much evidence that the job is temporary then it can be a problem.

I am posting this for my friend.
He lost his medical report which he did last week
what should he do?
have the dr would have sent a copy to uscis? or he has to do it again?
any other options

doctor gave sealed envelope to me, along with the copies of everything. so if he lost his copy, he should still have the sealed envelope, if he has lost sealed envelope, take his copy to doctor and have the doc make a new sealed envelope.
if all copies are lost, doctor retains a copy for their record so he should be able to get another report anyway.
however, if that particular doc is busy, don't know when he will get new report.

Rightly said Devils_Advocate !!, one more thing is many Republicans support CIR too but still we dont have 60 votes to pass this measure.
Unfortunately, This measure is bound to fail when unemployment is 10% and politicians dont want to anger their base in an election year.
Unless someone is shown how the thing will benefit or is in their interests, usually the support will be not much.
We must tell and push the idea as much as possible, and its a fact too, how the CIR will benefit the legal American Citizens and others legal and the country. We must tell them that CIR is not about amnesty, but its about something much different and much more.
Its about:
Securing the borders, as they cant be left porous forever.
Creating a legal path for undocumented, so that they'll apply for visas and as legals would do, pay taxes etc. Or can be go home and come back with visas.
Stopping all illegal immigration once for all.
Legal immigration and reducing the pains which legal immigrants face.
Reducing crime.
etc.. etc..
When you post your comments in any media, please make everyone aware that CIR is not amnesty. I saw some nice posts in cnn, WP, NYT, thehill.com etc..
When a topic opens in these sites, I see the 20 posts already and in less than 4 hrs, it crosses 2000 to 4000. Check it out.

i can explain that ....... this is the right wing conspiracy of iv .... against eb3 india.... they got inside uscis website and changed the numbers....... creating backlog for even 2008....

Can you post the negative points your lawyer told you about EB3 to EB2 conversion ?
I understand. I'm also in similar situation. Filing another case in EB2 is no doubt best thing to do. Money is not the main factor. But I'm afraid new labor approval (considering PERM delay), I-140 approval and refile (with older PD) may take close to two years (considering current processing time). Also if many of us are doing this then another new rule may be introduced to "block" these cases as they will notice sudden increase of EB2!! Another thing is we're already in AOS pending state. I'm not sure what will be the impact of doing this now. I hope you've discussed all these with your lawyer. I told my lawyer about it and he came up with all negative sides of EB3 to EB2 PD transfer. But I'm still thinking to go for it.
