I am the one who posted the question, and i didn't specify any amount or any other details. I didn't ask whether I should do that or not.
I didn't do that for money, so i didn't think of payment etc.
I wanted to know just a simpler way of doing it.
Later on, when was criticized / judged/ humiliated, I tried to explain the details and dimension of the problem.
Just to clarify, you guys can continue pouring your criticism.....good luck with that...:-)

I am a parent, and my wife is studying at school; When our kid was born, we decided to bring her up ourselves; It hasn't been easy, but it has been rewarding. She is being brought up as an Iranian-American girl; So far, no problems.
Bringing in a Nanny might make your job slightly easier in the short run, but in the long run will make your kid's life a bit harder as he/she will not be brought up with the American culture and will be kind of an outcast, if you will; I mean, our skin color is different; Having a different culture and accent doesn't exactly help either. I don't want the same thing for my kid. Do you?
The other question (and it is an honest question, not any sort of attack or anything) is that why do you insist in living and bringing up your child in US if you do not want to assimilate in the 'melting pot'? The only reason that I try to give a bit of Iranian culture to my daughter is because I don't want her not to be able to connect with the relatives in the old country. Oh well...

I was really afraid to ask this question as people here don't like different type of question, then also i thought to take a chance.
If you are a working couple with kids, you know the value of having a maid here.
So I am planning to get a maid from india.
Can she apply for b1 visa (with sponsorship letter from me).
Can I specify the actual reason(help with child care) for visa or I just have to mention "visiting purpose"??
I am fine with her traveling to india every 6 months.
I came here on H1 and working on EAD(dependent with 485 pending).

google for nanny and you will get nanny matchin service sites. look up on craigslist. post for a 'nanny wanted' at your Indian store. and there are nannies for children with special needs too, no i aint talkin about you.

I can understand why some people are getting riled up about. I am also a past contributor who is not a current "Donor", though I too made a $25.00 contribution specific to the FOIA drive. But please do not make allegations on the good folks form the Core and other dedicated people who are working hard (who are "Donors"). I have received a PM from Pappu about 10 days back saying that they dont have any updates and will let us know when they do. So let us give some them some time (even though we think we have some information as of yesterday).
This is my humble request to Core:
Since many people have contributed just for FOIA but are not "Donors", please make all information (and all discussions) about FOIA available to everyone (not just to those who contributed for FOIA) on the open forum. I dont think that it is any sensitive information that people on the other side can use against us (please correct me if wrong). This is only for the FOIA issue, so that it is just and fair and a win-win solution for everyone.

Please stop this speculation game of what the Congress is going to do. I have seen the Congress raise our hopes several times and then not deliver what we wanted. Realistically, we cannot expect them to address our needs first as we are not citizens. I think we will have to wait more before getting retrogression relief.

Now the research is out of the way, let me tell you what I did.
I could not get Dr. appointment before July 2nd week in my area. I have to drive 100 miles. So to reduce one trip, I took the vaccinations from my local county health department.
I am not concerned about "what if" situations of 2nd shots as I can convince the Doctor, if need be :)
For the wife, it's a different story. Trying to get a Vaccination attestation from Doctor in India. If not, use the waiver.

Here is another suggestion: a lot of members here will have their own webpages or blogs. How about putting banner ads of IV on those sites with a link to IV. I have created 2 banner ads in vertical and horizontal sizes that can be posted. IV team, if you like you can post it on the publicity page. Let me know if you you would like to make changes to the text on these ads and I can send another version.

Example 2 on Page 10 is the one that most of us who have not renewed their H1 or other non-immigrant visa should be worried about. It clearly says that any non-immigrant who has not renewed his/her non-immigrant visa even though the AoS application was filed prior to expiry of the non-immigrant visa is subject to deportation. This I think is a serious cause of concern.

I had applied for my AP on september 11 2009 at TSC. I recieved a receipt and I am waiting for approval since then. I am planning to travel out of country on 17th november 2009.
1. Do i need to cancel my tickets ?
2. Can I travel and ask someone to post the approved AP to my india address ?
3. Is there any chance that I may get biometrics notice during my travel (ITs already past 60 days) ?
4. In the worst case can I get H4 stamp (my husband is holding H1) and come back and start working on EAD ?
What are my options ? Any input will be appreciated.;
I don't think you should travel outside the country when your AP is pending. This is really unfortunate, since there are a lot of people who applied after you and have already received their AP. You can travel if your AP is approved prior to departure and than you can have them mailed to India after they arrive at your place (can ask a friend to do that). But, if your AP is not approved by the next Monday, I don't think you should travel.
This is what I know....but I am not a lawyer and this is not a legal advise

Do we need to fill form I-864 or form I -134 for affidavit of support? A friend of mine who filed with murthy this month is forwarding his set of documents. The documents he filled in includes 134 and not 864. I am looking at uscis website and I am trying to figure out what is the difference between the two. Does any one have more info on the difference between the two documents?
